Not sure of your size? A well-fitting bra should feel supportive and comfortable all day. Here's a quick way to check your size at home, and how to tell when a bra fits.

Measure your band

Wearing a lightly padded or unlined bra, measure snugly around your ribcage directly under your bust, keeping the tape level. Round to the nearest whole number. This is your starting band size.

Measure your bust

Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level and relaxed. The difference between your bust and band measurements points to your cup size: about 1 inch is an A, 2 inches a B, 3 inches a C, 4 inches a D, and so on.

How a bra should fit

  • Band: snug and level around your back, on the loosest hook when new so you can tighten as it stretches.
  • Cups: your breast fills the cup with no gaping or spilling over the top or sides.
  • Center gore: on underwire styles, it sits flat against your breastbone.
  • Straps: comfortable, not digging in. Most of the support comes from the band.

Sizing varies by brand and style

Every brand and style fits a little differently, so you may wear a different size in different bras. If you are between sizes or unsure, we're happy to help.
